Hot Dogs and Headliners: The Heart of America Hotdog Festival Returns August 22
An evening of funk legends, museum-lawn sunsets, and more hot dogs than any sensible person should attempt in one sitting.
Circle Saturday, August 22 on the calendar, Kansas City. The Heart of America Hotdog Festival rolls back around, taking over the National WWI Museum and Memorial from 3 PM to 11 PM. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum has hosted this celebration since 2013, toasting the long romance between America's pastime and the frank in a bun — and the proceeds go straight back to supporting the museum.

Between Sets
This is a food event at heart: expect ballpark-style eats, local food trucks, and vendors spread across the grounds all evening. Pace yourself — eight hours is a marathon, not a sprint, and the golden move is grabbing your first dog before the dinner crowd swells.
Plan your night: grab tickets and the full rundown from the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum or Eventbrite, and watch the Facebook event for updates. And when the trucks post up, keep the Street Bites map handy to find your favorites on the lawn. See you out there!
